During my senior year at the Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington, I acted as student ambassador to the college's master plan process. This position evolved into an internship with the firm Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects (ZGF) hired to complete the master plan. I helped organize and participated in town hall meetings, design charrettes and conducted survey's to engage students, faculty, staff and local organizations. The master plan process was extensive inclusive and collaborative and was enriched by student involvement which I helped lead.
After graduation I worked with the ZGF team in Seattle to complete the plan where I focused on land use within the campus 1000 acres of forest, wetland and beach property to help the college meet education and sustainability goals. I helped develop stewardship recommendations, land use and landscape guidelines, created graphics and diagrams, presented to Board of Directors and developed the plans appendix which included studies, plan engagement processes and supplemental information.
