Auburn Housing & Urban Development
Auburn, AL
2010
Originally built in 1951, Moton Housing in the Boykin neighborhood, was developed to provide shelter for the African American community in once segregated Auburn Alabama. Collaborating with the Auburn Housing Authority in the process of updating the developments structures, this project worked to investigate potential for the landscape to become a regenerative and productive space for residents.
Critical to this exploration was tackling the "no man's land" of lawn of the four acre site by addressing HUD's need for safety, accessibility and low maintenance design.
